Banter with: Melanie & Bayley

How did he/she propose?

In 2019 after 7 weeks away overseas, Mel was picked up at the airport by Bayley. When we got home he had put bow ties on all the animals. Bayley got down on one knee and asked Mel to marry him. Mel was very excited!

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

Mel worked hard over the months (a little help from Bayley too) making signs, name cards and centre pieces for the reception.

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

Mel wanted something magical like a disney movie. Even with the rain everything was perfect on the wedding day. We wouldn't change it for the world

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.

The flowers were organised by Brooke. She made an amazing drop bouquet for Mel filled with roses, freesias, lily's and orchards. Bayleys pin on had 2 roses 1 white and 1 purple. Mels gown was found as a last try on option and the last store that was booked. She fell in love with it as soon as it was on, there were a few tears. Our cake was made by a lovely friends mum, it was a lime and coconut cake with a lemon curd filling. Mel painted mini border collie figures to go on the cake to represent our 2 dogs, Hugo and Pebbles.

What was your favourite moment?

Mels favourite moment was walking down the aisle seeing Bayley for the first time that day. It was all very emotional. Bayley's favourite moment was when he first saw Mel walking down the aisle.

Any other cool stories about the day?

Mel- changing shoes after the ceremony. Trying to find my feet under all the dress was a fun challenge. Being able to run through the vines towards the end of the night with friends.
