Banter with: Christabelle & Javin

How did he/she propose?

It's kind of a funny story - it was in the middle of covid lockdowns and so trying to secure a restaurant booking was nearing impossible. With covid the past couple of years, Chris had become more of a homebody so proposing in our first home still worked out to be a meaningful plan. It was the 1st of Nov, a day before Cup Day, and Christabelle was at a concrete plant for work during the day. She normally gets home from work after 6pm, and so I had planned my day to get ready, start memorising my speech and wait on flower petals to arrive so everything would be ready by the time she came home. I started cleaning the house, reviewed my speech, before I got a call around 1pm from her saying she'd be coming home earlier and to work from home. This completely caught me off guard; I hadn't yet memorised my speech or cleaned the house to set up candles, and the flower petals had not yet even arrived. It was the fastest I had ever tidied up and gotten ready because she got home 20 minutes later, coming in the door in Hi-Vis clothes and concrete dust all over herself. She said she had thought it a bit strange that downstairs was cleaned up... but she was still surprised when I met her at the top of the stairs in a clean suit kneeling, with a ring in hand. She was still so surprised and happy. The flower petals arrived a half hour later but luckily she already said yes!

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

We initially envisioned a large & grand wedding! But upon planning the big day, we realised we really just wanted to capture the vibrancy and life of the day, and capture as many candid and beautiful shots as we can. Really want the day to be full of love and laughter!

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc.

We'll be going with a toffee/blush pink/orange/whites flowers to suit the white venue of Bramleigh Estate. The gown is an ivory ballgown during the ceremony, and will be changing halfway through the reception into another white dress. The cake with be a white 3 tiered cake with florals to match the centrepieces at Bramleigh. Favours are still underway - but we'll be using a chinese red box for each person as their wedding favour with "Javin & Chris" hard candies.

What was your favourite moment?

Our favourite moments would be when we first went on a cruise together before covid, moving out into our first home, and getting our french bulldog puppy almost 2 years ago!

Any other cool stories about the day?

We'll be doing a flashmob around 9pm to Uptown Funk! Kindly choreographed by Javin's mum, Tina. Also are hoping to play the shoe game during the night!
